A Moment at LFR That Deeply Impacted Your Faith

"Hearing stories from my peers and those in leadership where they talked about coming into their own faith and “owning” it. I grew up around believers and in church, but I never took the steps of owning my faith until I saw the impacts of that in the lives of my close friends at Lake Forest. "

A Mentor Who Made an Impact

"Jamie and Bethany Sexton were my workstaff managers. Their intentionality in forming community and encouraging us to share our stories was incredibly important to shaping who I am as a person and in any relationships I form."

A Lesson or Scripture That Still Sticks Today

"I mean this in the most un-ironic way, but I learned the value of worshipping God in *everything* I did (including scrubbing toilets, sweeping the dining hall, working the ladder at the ropes course, filling up the salad bar…the list goes on). "

More of your story

"I’m sure this is a similar story to many that have been submitted…

I have met some of the all-time most important people in my life at LFR (one of which being my husband [summer 2014 what’s up]).

I quite literally grew up coming to camp, tagging along as a toddler while my dad was a speaker at camp. I attended Camp Macon as a student missionary, which pretty much confirmed that I knew I wanted to work at LFR….so I am one of 5 siblings who worked summer staff from the years 2004-2014. I continued coming back to help with Camp Macon to help for several years (even a couple while pregnant). My growing family now attends the Labor Day Retreat and we look forward to being back all year long!"
