directions to lfr

Vital Note: DO NOT rely on GPS! Regardless of your travel direction, enter the camp via Hwy 14 on Lake Forest Road. Once on Hwy 14, you may use GPS but do not turn on Yellow Creek Road. Most of the roads around the camp are private logging roads with many locked gates.

  • Macon: (travel time approx. 22 minutes) Head West on HWY 14 for 13 miles. Turn right onto Lake Forest Rd. and go about 1.5 miles;  turn right onto Tram Road (you will see the sign for LFR on the left and the right). LFR will be on your left in 2.1 miles.

  • Louisville: (travel time approx. 22 minutes) Head East on HWY 14 at the intersection of Hwy 25 and Hwy 14. Go 19.4 miles and turn left onto Lake Forest Rd. Go about 1.5 miles; turn right onto Tram Road (you will see the sign for LFR on the left and the right). LFR will be on your left in 2.1 miles.  

  • Jackson: (travel time approx. 2 hours) Head east on Hwy 25 (Lakeland Dr.) and travel approximately 75 miles until you reach Louisville and then the Walmart at the four way stop at Highway 14. Turn right on Highway 14 and follow the directions from Louisville (above).

  • Hattiesburg: (travel time approximately 3 hours) – take I-59 North to Meridian (about 80 miles); then follow I-59/20 East towards Tuscaloosa; soon after passing through Meridian take Highway 45 North (go about 50 miles); turn left at the 4-way stop in Macon onto Highway 14 west (towards Louisville); stay on highway 14 west through downtown Macon by turning left at the four-way stop and then turning right after passing over the Noxubee River bridge. From this point travel approximately 15 miles to the Lake Forest Ranch turn off (Lake Forest Rd.); follow the signs to LFR on the gravel road. When you arrive at the camp turn left in front of the lake and the camp office is just past the swimming pool on the left and summer camp registration (which is in the dining hall) parking will be on the left just past the beach volleyball court.

  • Memphis(travel time approx. 3 hours) Head southeast on Highway 78 to Tupelo. Take Highway 45 south in Tupelo. Continue on Highway 45 Alternate towards West Point when Hwy 45 splits off going towards Columbus. Highway 45 alternate rejoins Highway 45 at Brooksville. Continue on Hwy 45 for 9 miles to the 4-way stop sign in Macon. Turn right onto Hwy 14 west towards Louisville. Go through downtown Macon and continue on Hwy 14 and follow the directions from Macon (above).

    Birmingham: (travel time approx. 3 hours) Head southwest on I-20 towards Tuscaloosa/Meridian. Follow I-20 W to AL-14 W in Eutaw. Take Exit 40 from I-20 W. Continue on AL-14 W. Take AL-17 S and MS-14W into Macon. Stay on highway 14 west through downtown Macon by going straight at the four-way stop, turning left onto MS-14/MS-145 S/Jefferson St. and then turning right after passing over the Noxubee River bridge. From this point travel follow the directions from Macon.
